I’ve been sitting on this for a while but this is deals. Homie Tracy Tubera (Wildgrinders/Fantasy Factory/Dyrdek Ent.) opened an online store to sell his prints. He decided to go swinging and do prints for all you Kobe fans. He’s making colorways of all the Kobe Nike releases. Good price. Small runs. And a great find for the Black Mamba/Laker’s fans. I’m a F’Lakers guy but still think these are dope. I bet if you did Sole Collector and got each Kobe with each matching print you would get those one-off lazer etched AF1’s or dunks or whatever they offer. Serious.

Check out Tracy’s online store to get them at http://www.tracytuberaart.bigcartel.com/

Hot chicks kicking ass. Robots with Alex Pardee bunny on it. Oni looking warrior mofos. Zeppelins. Chee! How do I get a poster for this bad boy?

Table full of goodies.

Don’t sleep! Go Pow Wow Hawai’i.

Now I’m SUPER STOKED about Pow Wow Hawai’i cus all these DOPE artists in my home island and I didn’t pay anything for it. WIN! At the same time I’m excited that I can chill and kick it with the artists and enjoy the build up to Saturday’s show. Jasper Wong said the focus of this event is the art process. So let’s proceed. Day 2. (PS. Day one I was there but I left before they came back with the paint and got stuck in class……grrrrrrrrr.)

Makiki native Ekundayo was a last minute addition to the roster, but he’s coming out swinging for the fences (and the windows!).

Prime making me think about getting a Wagner….but it’s loud……and drips super choke more than my roller. He showed me his sketches. Gonna be dope!

Ken from Hi-Fructose Mag(left). He actually remembered me from working the Dissizit x DoodleBarn x Silent Stage booth at SDCC. Wow! from the bay and currates shows as well. Jasper Wong (right) is a pretty generous guy. He brings dope homies from all over to HI as a shout out to his home town. He adds guys like Ekundayo with no hesitations. And when I asked him for this pic and Ken wanted to ask him something he asked if he wanted to be in the pic. Kudos Jasper. (PS. this was before I even knew who Ken was) If you enjoy anything about Pow Wow Hawai’i please thank Jasper.

Meggs

Will Barras. I really like his stuff. Was stoked to see his name on the flyer. I wish I had a copy of Scrawl and Scrawl 2. (Shout out to Mr. Jago! That would be dope for him to be in Hawai’i!).

Klor got jokes! And she was loving the fact that she could have her kids do her fill ins! Pimp!

Scien and 123kid. First time father son collab wall. Mean! Let the kid’s paint!

Klan in the front. This documentary Mike is making is gonna be dope! They interviewed Angry Woebots before he left for the movie. I hope I get a cameo in it. Watch it win HIFF, or Sundance? Can’t wait to watch um.

Don’t forget that there’s BUTTLOADS of media guys from all over taking pics for their blogs or mags or whatevers. Their cameras may be better and their pics cooler too? I wonder if I block their shots. I got in the Acclaim blog pic. Thanks PJ!

Song 3

Dee Lite “Groove is in the heart”.

How can you not like it. Dancing. Bootsy Collins. Q-tip verse. Asian DJ guy. Cowbell. It’s DEEELICIOUS! If you at work I dare you BLAST THIS ON YOUR COMP in your cubicle. Yeah its more about love of music, but it’s good practice to get rhythm for the bedroom? Nah. Just a good jam. Can play um at the b-boy jam? KTC?

PS. I started practicing my uprocks for the first time in ten years. Was sloppy but just like riding bike. Never forget! Now hopefully my surfing skills does the same cus I know my skating is SUPER downhill.

With love, Lofa

Musiq Soulchild (or if he dropped it or added it back i dunno?) Buddy. Not like the De La Soul Buddy. Actual buddies. I like this song. It’s all about spitting game. Funny thing about spitting game is that you think you come smooth like this song and you practice on people you’re not that interested in, but when you find that one you aint smooth, you stutter and mumble and clumsy as a mofo. And to be honest that’s usually what they like. If you too smooth they think you a player or you practice too much. Ever watch that movie Hitch? Explains everything. This song is cool. Lyrics got nice flow and somewhat edgy without strait up saying “Eh I like OOOOOF!”. The reason I also like this song is cus it kinda reminds me of Jodeci’s “You Give Good Love” track I used last year or two years ago. It’s a feel good hand clapper. Happy V-Day +1. Start picking up them discounted heart shaped goodies!

I like Valentine’s Day. Even as a little kid I liked Valentine’s Day. Helped guys step up their pimp game or develop one if they didn’t have one. Passing out candy and cards to your classmates in elementary. Trying to get a slow dance with a girl in the cafeteria in intermediate. Having the balls to walk across the club to talk to the hot chick in high school (ask me about getting cock-blocked at the Hype from a female classmate). Boosting the spirits of lonely girls with no special someone in college (don’t forget their friends either…..they help put in a good word for you, sometimes its clutch!). I had plans today but they kinda fizzled out due to lack of time and frustrations. I’m a firm believer that you gotta do something special for your valentine ON Valentine’s Day, but at the same time I think you might be better off delaying it for a few days or doing it early. Roses are rediculous today, but next week you can probably get them less than $10. All the V-Day candy and gifts get reduced on Feb. 15. But the person getting them will still love receiving them, because they love the giver and not the gift. I was thinking about how Target was discounting Christmas Snickers in January yet stocking the heart shaped Snickers at the same time. Snickers got a pretty decent shelf-life, so why won’t a girl love a Santa Snickers and the fact you saved some money so you can spend it on something else for her? Maybe I’m just a cheap bastard……. I did buy myself something. I slept on the last V-Day package that DJ Neil Armstrong had with his Warmfuzzy mix and a g-string cus what I gonna do with a g-string? But this year he packaged Sweet, Bittersweet, Smoove, Sweet 2, and Warmfuzzy together for $25 with a bonus new mix to be emailed later as well. I copped it so I could upgrade my collection (I think someone stole some of my copies).

Like I said before, this year I’m kinda delaying V-Day, but I also decided to make a last minute run to the grocery store. Was kinda nice seeing all these guys who just finished work cramming the lines at the floral department so they could get their flowers re-wrapped for their someones. Parents and their kids shopping for the other parent or family members. People just trying to let others know that hey-you’re important to me, I ❤ U!

Like I normally do I try to collect at least a song a day from Feb. 1 to V-Day for my bloggy blog. This year with the slew of events (M3/HellaFlush/etc) I forgot till couple days ago. Hence the start today. Usually I have KTC and others do the same. The crew at www.atypicalLIVING.com took it a step further and made a mixtape you can download here. Here’s my first song. I was trying to make a sampling of love songs that were somewhat upbeat and you could play at work and keep your momentum going with the hopes of making the work day shorter. I had some difficulty. One thing I do know is that my itunes collection sucks compared to my wax and cd stacks. I’m not sure if I’ll even follow through and post all the songs but here we go. First song.

Born Jamericans. Yardcore, the people want more! I’m glad that this song still gets some mainstream radio air time on both the top 40 and the island/hawaiian/jawaiian stations. Hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, win. Showing love yet not that slow jam that make you go sleep.

Happy V-day! With love, lofa.

PS. Show others how much you care on regular days too! Not just V-day!

Keeping my eye on the prize tomorrow for these!

Hellaflush returns to Hawai’i. Now last time they held Aloha Kings I went (see here). I’m not really a car buff, but I appreciate nice cars and fast cars and expensive cars, BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE ANY OF THOSE! I love my Scion xB. I don’t wash it enough or wax it, but I never want to show it. Tomorrow the Lightsleepers crew going to have a booth at HellaFlush HI. LS and car shows go way back. KTC used to always run the dj battles (shout out to NSK and everyone who entered back then, Memoirs, 720, Hi Tony!), and the b-boy battles, and the emcee battles (remember Omega Cix vs Freelance (Narrow Path) when 06 said there was a kaizo speed gear sticker on your boto line?). LS is still about dope hiphop. Dope cars need dope hiphop to bump and drivers need t-shirts too! And maybe a Lightsleepers pillow for the back seat as well.

The one thing I like about Hellaflush is that its more about the cars. Not so much about the girls, or the wet t-shirt contests, but the cars. I think that’s why I kinda dig fatlace/illest. They doing what they love, and they corner the market hard. Another thing I like that they push is STICKERS! Last time I went to the show to buy this jem

I bought some for $5. I thought it was a little expensive. Now they selling on ebay for $25. Go figure. I love stickers and will OUTSTICKER anyone! No joke. I got an entire drawer dedicated to only PART of my stickers. We renovated my house and my older part of my sticker collection filled a ten gallon rubbermaid storage container that is still in storage (I gotta get that back soon!).

Well if you like cars and stickers come down. Don’t forget to visit the Lightsleepers booth. If you showing your car and want a lightsleepers sticker to rock during the show hit me up.

yeah yeah yeah!

I’m torn cus I would love to own one, but I still don’t have a Dwight Schrute one yet. My Boba Fet and Captain America can use some company.
